Spend some time admiring the tranquil surroundings and capturing memorable photographs. • Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple→ Continue to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple (Baba Mandir), located at an altitude of approximately 13,200 feet. The shrine is dedicated to Indian Army soldier Baba Harbhajan Singh, who is remembered for his devotion and service to the nation. The sunrise experience is subject to clear weather and favorable visibility. On your way back to Darjeeling, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery and stop at the iconic Batasia Loop. Enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery surrounding these attractions and admire the remarkable railway engineering of the famous loop. Depending on your departure schedule and the selected route, you may travel via Kurseong or Mirik. Via Kurseong →The route via Kurseong covers approximately 98 km and generally takes around 2½–3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Kurseong is a charming hill town located between Darjeeling and Siliguri, known for its scenic surroundings, panoramic mountain views, and famous tea estates. You may enjoy a brief halt at a suitable viewpoint, such as Kurseong Tourist Lodge, subject to time and local conditions. Via Mirik→ Alternatively, you may travel via Mirik, covering approximately 110 km and taking around 4–5 hours. Mirik is known for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful tea gardens, orange orchards, cardamom plantations, pleasant climate, and the scenic Samendu Lake. The route offers wonderful views of the lush Himalayan landscape and tea plantations. Both routes pass through beautiful tea-growing regions and offer scenic views of the picturesque hills and valleys of North Bengal.
