En route, stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake, surrounded by lush green hills and offering breathtaking views. Continue towards Cherrapunji and explore some of its spectacular natural attractions, including the two-tiered Elephant Falls and the fascinating Arwah Caves, known for their impressive rock formations and fossil impressions. Begin your day with an early morning drive from Cherrapunji to Tyrna Village, the starting point of your exciting Nongriat Trek. From Tyrna, begin the scenic trek through lush green forests, traditional village paths, and approximately 3,000 stone steps leading towards Nongriat. Upon reaching Nongriat, witness the magnificent Double Decker Living Root Bridge, an extraordinary natural structure created over generations by the Khasi community by guiding and intertwining the roots of living trees. Take some time to admire this remarkable example of traditional ecological knowledge and Meghalaya's unique natural heritage. For adventure enthusiasts, you may extend the trek towards the spectacular Rainbow Falls, subject to time, weather, and local conditions. (Additional cost applicable.)
