While summer months from April to June are the best time to visit Darjeeling, some travellers also prefer to visit the beautiful town to enjoy the icy-cool winter months from October to December. NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra International Airport to Gangtok :-5 hr (125 km)
NJP Railway Station to Gangtok :-4 hr 15 min (114.5 km) ; Bagdogra International Airport to Gangtok :- 4 hr 30 min (122.8 km) Journey to Gangtok - Upon arrival at NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport, a representative will meet & assist with transfer to Gangtok. The top stops along the way from NJP Railway Station to Gangtok (with short detours) are Tsongmo Lake, MAYFAIR Hill Resort Darjeeling, and Nathula. Welcome To Gangtok-On arrival at Gangtok, check-in to hotel and make yourself comfortable. The evening is free for you to roam around MG Road (Mall) or the local shopping centre. After a delicious breakfast, prepare for an exciting day , proceed for sightseeing in Gangtok. Visit Ganjong Monastery, Lasa Waterfalls, Institute of Tibetology, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Flower Show, White hall, Tashi View Point, and Handicraft and Handlooms centre. The evening is free for you to stroll around.In the evening you can meander around MG Road (Mall) or neighbourhood shopping centres. Return to the hotel in the late evening for a peaceful night's rest, reminiscing about the day's adventures. Finally; Dinner and Overnight Stay at Hotel in Gangtok.

Gangtok - Full day Sightseeing -Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
After a delicious breakfast, prepare for an exciting day as we head to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir. This trip takes you to Nathu La Pass, Tsomgo Lake (locally known as Changu Lake), & Baba Mandir, which is all on one route. Best time to visit Tsomgo Lake: You should leave Gangtok by 7:30 to 8 am and reach the lake by 10 am so that you get clear 2 hours to enjoy, as in the afternoon the weather starts getting bad.This is one of the few and awesome high altitude lakes in India. The lake becomes doubly attractive with the reflections of the surrounding hills on the water. From Gangtok which is at 5410 ft, the altitude rises to about 10,000 ft in just 15kms. Babamandir And Nathula Are Situated In Same Circuit In High Altitude Area. Tsong Is At 12400 Feet, Babamandir App. At 13000 feet And Nathula Is At 14600 Feet. Tsomgo Lake Is An Alpine Lake With Lots Of Rainbow Trout Though It Is A Sacred Lake Of Sikkim. After Tsomgo Lake , you will proceed to Baba Mandir; Baba Mandir is a distinguished sightseeing place of Sikkim. This “mandir” or shrine is dedicated to “Baba” Harbhajan Singh, who was a soldier of the Indian Army. He died near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim, India.At around 56 km from Gangtok, this temple is surrounded by stupendous natural beauty. The distance between Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir is about 16.3 km, a journey of 30 minutes by car. Learn the facts and stories of the Temple and Indian Soldiers out there. After Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Sightseeing return back to hotel in Gangtok. On the way sightseeing at Old Baba Mandir, Kupup Lake, New Baba Mandir, Menmecho Lake (you have to trek to reach Menmecho), Tukla Valley, Jelepla Pass, Yak Golf Course, Ice Hockey Field, Four Lake Point. Gangtok to Lachen :- 5 hr 15 min (123.6 km)
After Breakfast , Check-Out from hotel in Gangtok and Transfer to Lachen ; Lachen is a town in the Mangan District of Sikkim, India. The name Lachen means "big pass", and the town is located at an elevation of 8,500 ft above sea level. Lachen is a popular tourist destination and a base for the Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar Lake. Its natural beauty and serene vegetation are worth commending and it is believed to be one of the most noteworthy and popular places for Buddhist pilgrims and tourists. Lachen is a less-populated beautiful holiday destination, also famous as the gateway to the sacred Gurudongmar and Tso Lhamu lakes.Lachen is a scenic settlement surrounded by Rhododendron and conifer woods, and offers views of snow-capped Himalayan mountain peaks, granite cliffs, and glaciers. The town is home to the Lachenpas, a Sikkimese Bhutia tribe, and is also known for its Lachung monastery. Drive to Lachen via Chungthang. After a leisure breakfast ;Check-out from hotel in Lachen and proceed to Lachen - local sightseeing After breakfast, visit Gurudongmar Lake ; is a sacred lake in the Mangan District of Sikkim, India, at an elevation of 17,800 ft (5,430 m). It is one of the world's highest lakes and the second highest in India, after Cholamu Lake at 18,000 ft. The lake is named after Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, who visited in the 8th century. It is considered sacred by Buddhists, Sikhs, and Hindus.The lake is located in the North side of the Khangchengyao Range and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. In the winter, the lake freezes over, except for one spot that is considered especially honored. Next drive through the cool desert till Tibet/China. After Lachen - local sightseeing ; In the afternoon, drive to Lachung .On the way to Lachung , you will pass through places like Thangu ; Chopta Valley (13,200ft) On arrival in Lachung, check in to the hotel and unwind after the day's activities. Lachung To Gangtok :- 4 hr 45 min (115.5 km)
After a delicious breakfast, prepare for an exciting day as we head to Yumthang Valley ; also known as the Sikkim Valley of Flowers, is a nature sanctuary in the North Sikkim district of Sikkim, India. It's located at an elevation of 3,564 meters (11,800 ft) and is 140 km north of Gangtok. The valley is surrounded by the Himalayan mountains and features a river, hot springs, yaks, and grazing pastures. It's also home to the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, which has over 24 species of Rhododendron flowers that bloom from late February to mid-June.Yumthang Valley is closed to tourists from December to March due to heavy snowfall. Visitors can travel from Gangtok to Lachung, the nearest village with accommodations, by booking a full or shared vehicle. However, it's not possible to travel directly to Yumthang because the roads are often foggy and it gets dark early. Afterwards, return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch drive to Gangtok. After a leisure breakfast ;Check-out from hotel in Gangtok and proceed to Gangtok- local sightseeing .Visit the Flower show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Institute of Tibetology, Dro-dul Chorten, Ranka Monastery & Banjakhri Falls. After Gangtok- local sightseeing ; In the afternoon, drive to Darjeeling .On the way to Darjeeling, you will pass through places like Singtam, Ranipool, and Teesta Bazaar before reaching Darjeeling. This route takes you through the charming town of Kalimpong before reaching Darjeeling. While returning visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After sighteeing retrun to hotel for breakfast. Later on, proceed for half day city tour of Darjeeling.
