Day 1
Arrival in New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) & Transfer to GANGTOK → (130 km / 4 Hours Drive Approximately)
North East India welcomes you with open arms. On the first day of this amazing Gangtok Pelling Darjeeling tour, you will arrive at new Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra airport and head straight to Gangtok. GANGTOK Tour →Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
Start the day early with a healthy breakfast and head out for some more sightseeing today. • Tsomgo Lake → Visit the Tsomgo Lake that is rested on an elevation of 12,400 feet above sea level. Owing to the temple built alongside the shore, it is considered to be sacred among the locals. The lake surface also reflects different colours with a change in the seasons. • Baba Harbhajan Mandir→ The Baba Harbhajan Mandir which is perched at a height of 13,200 feet is a shrine of an Indian soldier who is alleged to be serving the nation even after his death. The national anthem is played here in every half an hour and it is mandatory to visit this memorial for every Indian Army personnel. • Optional Tour to Nathula Pass / Additional Charges / Special Permit→ TIt is close to Nathula post of Indian-China border and an optional tour to the Nathula Pass will be arranged . It is believed that visiting this place bears away one’s sins. • Samdruptse Statue → The Samdruptse Statue is set on a hill at a height of 7000 feet and a giant statue of Sikkim’s patron Saint Guru Padmasambhava is erected here. It is believed that the mountain is a sleeping volcano and only prayers can hold it from erupting. What adds importance is that the foundation stone for the statue was laid by the Dalai Lama. DARJEELING Tour
Start your day early as today you will drive to the Tiger Hill at 4 a.m. After reaching at a height of 2590 meters, you will witness the most spectacular sunrise and the sun’s rays will fill the dark sky and levitate over the third highest peak in the world, Mt. Kanchenjunga. As you make your way back down, make a quick visit to the Ghoom Monastery and enjoy the scenic views of the Batasia Loop. The unparalleled natural beauty amidst which the monastery is nestled is a wonderful sight to behold. The Batasia Loop is unarguably one of the most picturesque train routes in all of Darjeeling. You can enjoys Joy Ride on Darjeeling toy train. Afterward you will be dropped at the hotel, gulp a healthy breakfast and head out for some more sightseeing. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Its aim is to promote and encourage mountaineering amongst the youth of the country. Also, visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday). It is home to an array of species and Himalayan animals. Then, head to the Tenzing Rock, which is a very famous rock-climbing site among people who love to, seek adventure. On your way to the Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda, enjoy an outer view of the Chitrey Tea Garden, which is the home ground for Darjeeling’s aromatic tea. Feel the divine peace at the temple and pagoda and catch the panoramic views of the landscape and Kanchenjunga range from the top of the pagoda.
